Leadership
East Kentucky
Class of 2007 Graduation
· Leadership East Kentucky has three broad goals: to provide an
opportunity for individuals to enhance their leadership skills,
to enable them to become more familiar with Eastern KY, and to
build a network within the region.
· Each year, we recruit a class from throughout East Kentucky
and from diverse fields of interest, including business &
industry, education, government, non profits, religion, arts &
culture, grassroots organizations and others.
· · Topics for the sessions may include education, health,
economic development, justice, governance, our youth, and other
topics. In addition, we provide training in various skills,
including collaboration, working in teams; asset based planning,
visioning and leadership skills.
· · We meet in different communities throughout the Region and
have been to 32 different communities.
· Leadership East Kentucky is a program that is vital to the
future of East Kentucky, growing leaders who in turn grow their
communities. Leadership East Kentucky is sponsored by a
consortium of community action agencies in East KY, including
Bell-Whitley, Big Sandy, Daniel Boone, Gateway, Harlan Co., LKLp,
Middle KY River, Norteast KY and KY Communities Economic
Opportunity Council.
· We are now taking applications for the Class of 2008.
